- Channels
- Two, both free.
- Subscriber list
- Private; never sold, shared, or used for anything else.
- Exit
- Leave any time; the steps are under "How it works" below.
- Confirmation
- After you sign up, a confirmation email arrives. Reply to it or click its link, or nothing happens. If it does not show up, check your spam folder.
Announcements
hml-announce@h-u-m.net. Low volume: shows, releases, and site news. Only Mission Control posts here, so your inbox stays quiet.

Discussion
hml@h-u-m.net. The revived Hum Mailing List. Everyone subscribed can post by emailing the address above, and everyone subscribed reads the replies. Talk about the music, trade tips, and argue about lyrics.
- Be decent. This is a fan list, not an official band channel.
- No spam, and do not share other people's email addresses or private details.
- Replies go to the whole list, so check the "To" line before you hit send.

How it works
Subscribe
- Type your email address into a form above and press Subscribe. You can also send an email to hml-request@h-u-m.net (or hml-announce-request@h-u-m.net) with the word subscribe as the subject.
- Within a few minutes you get a confirmation email. Reply to it (just press Reply and Send), or click the link inside it. Until you do, you are not on the list. If it is not in your inbox, check your spam folder.
- A welcome email follows. Keep it: it explains how to change your settings.
Post to the discussion list
Write a new email addressed to hml@h-u-m.net and send it from the same address you subscribed with. Everyone on the list gets a copy. A post from a different address may be held until it is approved.
Reply
Reply sends your answer only to the person who wrote the message. Reply All sends it to the whole list. Pick the one you mean.
Digest or single messages
Choose when you sign up, or change it later on the list page, using "Unsubscribe or edit options" at the bottom. A digest bundles the day's messages into one email.
Unsubscribe or change your address
- On the web: open the list page (linked under each form above), scroll to the bottom, enter your email address, and press Unsubscribe or edit options.
- By email: send a message to hml-request@h-u-m.net (or hml-announce-request@h-u-m.net) with unsubscribe as the subject, then confirm the reply you get back.
- Changing addresses: unsubscribe the old one and subscribe the new one.
Stuck?
Send an email to hml-request@h-u-m.net with the word help as the subject, and you will get a list of commands back. For anything else, the FAQ explains how to reach me. Please do not email the band about the list.

- Also
- Fans chat at r/hum on Reddit.
- This page
